What is facial volumetry?
Facial volumetry is an aesthetic medicine treatment that consists of shaping the contours of the face by means of hyaluronic acid injections. The aim of the treatment is to replenish the loss of volume that arises through the ageing process — most often in the area of the cheeks, the tear trough and the oval of the face. I choose the product and the injection sites individually.
The result is individual — it depends on age, the condition of the skin and lifestyle. We discuss the scope of the treatment and the results that can realistically be achieved during the consultation.
How the treatment goes
The treatment is carried out with a fine cannula or a needle — the choice of method depends on the patient's expectations and individual needs. For comfort it is performed after a local anaesthetic has been applied and usually takes about 60 minutes.
Indications
- A dropping facial oval, loss of firmness
- First wrinkles and flattening of the cheeks
- Significant loss of facial fat tissue (for example after rapid weight loss)
- A wish to bring out the cheekbones and improve the jawline
- Facial asymmetry
Contraindications
- Pregnancy and the breastfeeding period
- Cancer
- Allergy to hyaluronic acid or another component of the product
- Autoimmune conditions (an increased risk of immunological complications)
- Active infections and skin inflammation at the treatment site
- Blood clotting disorders
