Injection lipolysis

What is injection lipolysis?

Injection lipolysis makes it possible to remove excess fat tissue from individual areas of the body effectively and non-invasively (the abdomen, a double chin, the arms, ‘love handles’ or the area around the knees). In some cases it can be an alternative to liposuction, that is, the painful and invasive suctioning of fat.

Injection lipolysis consists of applying to a particular area of the body a mixture of specific substances (phosphatidylcholine, deoxycholate and L-carnitine or organic silica), the purpose of which is to dissolve the fat cells. Phosphatidylcholine (PPC) occurs naturally in the human body as lecithin, which is one of the building blocks of cell membranes. It has been known in medicine for years – it is used, among other things, in the treatment of fat embolism.

To achieve optimal results, at least three treatments are recommended, depending on the area of the body. The details of the number of treatments and their effectiveness are discussed during the consultation.

Indications for the treatment

• A double chin
• Excess fat tissue on the abdomen, buttocks, thighs and hips

Contraindications to the treatment

• Pregnant women
• The period of lactation
• Allergy or intolerance to a component planned for the therapy
• A predisposition to hypertrophic scars
• A predisposition to pigmentation disorders
• Cardiovascular disease
• Autoimmune conditions – during periods when they are highly active
• Metabolic disorders
• Bacterial and viral infections
• Epilepsy
• Skin inflammation
• Obesity
• Liver and kidney disease

Aftercare recommendations

• No exposure of any kind to UV radiation – for a minimum of 72 hrs
• No alcohol – for 24 hrs
• No swimming pools or saunas
• Care with other cosmetic and aesthetic treatments (plan the course of treatment appropriately)
• Do not take anti-inflammatory or anticoagulant medication
• No make-up – for a minimum of 24 hrs (if the treatment was carried out on the lower part of the face)
• No intensive sport – for 72 hrs
